Fair Donation Draws: How It Actually Works
The winner is chosen by the server, not the streamer's or viewer's browser - rigging the outcome is technically impossible, not just a promise.
Who actually picks the winner
The streamer panel and the OBS widget are just an animation of an already-computed result: the DonateSpin server runs the draw before anything appears on screen. A closed tab, a frozen browser, or anything the streamer does in the interface can't change which lot was already picked.
How the winning chance is calculated
A lot's chance is its share of the total donation amount: a lot's weight equals the sum of donations on it, and its chance is that weight divided by the sum of all lots' weights. The formula is open and shown right in the panel next to each lot, as a percentage, before the wheel even spins.
There's an optional smoothing coefficient that raises the chance of lower-amount lots. It isn't hidden - it's turned on manually in the panel, and its effect is visible in the final percentages.
What a viewer can verify themselves
Each lot's chance percentage updates in real time and is visible on screen before the spin - you can eyeball the odds yourself instead of taking anyone's word for it.
